William M. Hitchcock - Chairman
William Hitchcock is the Principal of Pembroke Financial Partners, a NASD Broker/Dealer. He is also President of Avalon Financial, Inc. which is a private investment company. Prior thereto, he was a Director of Thoratec Corporation from May 1996 to May 2007. Mr. Hitchcock also serves on the advisory board of two SKH Partnerships. Over the years Mr. Hitchcock has served on a number of public company boards, both in the US and Canada, including Plains Resources Inc. He also serves as a trustee for a number of philanthropic organizations.
Mark G. Avery - President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mark Avery has over 20 years experience in various facets of the oil and gas development and exploration and oil service industries. His background includes a wide range of domestic and international experience in project development, acquisitions, corporate finance and manufacturing operations. In addition, Mark brings a keen understanding of foreign operations in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico and Argentina. Before joining Ausam Resources and then Ausam Energy, Mark served as President of Galveston-Houston Company, an energy services company with operations in Texas and Australia as well as international projects. He has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology from the University of Texas.
Richard G. Lummis - Vice President - Compliance & Secretary and Director
Richard Lummis is a private investor and consultant with over 20 years of business and legal expertise. Before joining Ausam Energy, Richard was an attorney for the Houston-based law firm of Butler & Binion. Holding degrees in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University, a law degree from University of Texas and an MBA from The Jones School at Rice University, Richard brings education combined with experience to the Ausam group.
Alastair J. Robertson - Chief Financial Officer and Director
Alastair Robertson has been Chief Financial Officer of the Company since June 2004 and prior to this was Chairman, CEO and Director of Northlinks Limited since 1997. Before this he had a 14-year career with Nowsco Well Service Ltd, a TSX and NASDAQ listed international oilfield service company culminating as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. While at Nowsco, Mr. Robertson gained extensive experience in the areas of business planning, financing, public markets, shareholder relations, tax planning and acquisitions. During the past 5 years, Mr. Robertson has been involved in founding, growing, financing and management of several Canadian companies. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He is a director and chairman of the audit committee of Adeptron Technologies Inc, a TSX listed electronics manufacturing company.
Barry Borak - Director
Barry Borak is principal of Huff Asset Management LLC, an independent investment management firm based in New Jersey that specializes in the management of corporate high yield bonds. Prior to this he was the Vice President with Decision Economics in Boston. He was also Vice President for Foresight Resources based in New York City. Mr. Borak is a certified petroleum geologist, reservoir engineer and investment analyst.
His educational background includes a B.A. in Geology from Queens College in Flushing, N.Y., Masters in Geology and Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineering and an M.B.A. from Boston College.
Robert Eriksson - Director
Robert Eriksson is the Head of Investor Relations for Vostok Nafta Investment Ltd. and Vostok Gas. He currently is involved in Investor Relations activities with the Lundin Group of Companies, including Lundin Mining Corporation and Tanganyika Oil. Prior thereto, he was the Business and Finance Reporter and Bureau Chief for Swedish business daily Finanstidningen's North American Bureau (San Francisco).
